How to process your RAW files with Adobe Camera Raw filter

 Adobe camera raw filter

Ok let me tell you the Advantages of Raw file format in your camera!

-> Raw  Files are very powerful format and it has a lot of advantages than the JPG format. It collects the huge information by the camera sensor, that you can change or enhance the picture later on in your post processing.
Camera raw filter allows you to modify the different parameters such as,
White balance, Exposure, Shadows and Colors, without loosing any data in in your image.

If you use JPG file format in post processing that wouldn't be a good choice because they were already processed files by the camera. If you try to color grade an image with JPG file format you will not get the accurate results, you can't recover all the information by JPG but the RAW files can do because the camera sensor collects all lighting details and entire data of your scene with huge color information.

JPG files are 8 bit files which means 256 shades of Red, Green, Blue basically 16 Million colors.
Raw files are 12 bit or 14 bit files or higher files contain 4,096 shades of Red, Green, Blue it's about 68 billion colors, 16 bit channel files even very big it contains 4 trillion colors a lot more information to work  with your photos

Ok now let's get started with Raw processing tool "Adobe Camera Raw

I will guide you well to start processing your Raw images, all you need is a good CPU with graphic card  and minimum of 4GB Ram. for non-destructive workflow. Before you start make sure that which camera raw filter suits for your camera, look at the link below to know more about it.

After opening the photoshop double click on the workspace to open your file or open from the file menu but do not drag and drop your Raw files directly into the photoshop that may crashes your files sometimes. When you open up your raw file in photoshop it will directly open up in the camera raw filter just like below.

This is how it looks like.
Now let's go with some settings to go further with processing images.

 1. Preset settings

Look at that yellow box bottom right that shows your image information, that's a default preset which is suggested by the Camera Raw, but i we can go with custom setting depending upon your lenses and cameras. Let's look into my settings.
I always use the ProPhoto RGB Color space with 16 bit channel, that i can deal with plenty of color information in the picture and also that will allows you bring back more detail information in the picture, if i would like to make any changes using photoshop we must open it up with a smart object that we can again get back into the camera raw filter to process primary details look down to the image for my setup.

Make sure you setup everything correctly.

After you setup you can play with all the options in the filter that you can change or enhance the things dramatically without losing any information in your picture, you can check your results by splitting side by side "Before and After" if you wanna go with any photoshop tools open your image into the photoshop as a smart object  and do your work but remember that do not save your image from PS like general it will not store the data which you processed with camera raw so again you have to save as a raw file and then open it and save with the camera raw filter.

This is how you gonna work with camera raw filter, and look at the below screenshot for how to save the image in JPG format without loss of any color details

Raw files are the best way to keep things organized and it will bring stunning outputs
I always use Raw as my standard setting.
